This was a busy weekend, but the most important part was Chad's birthday! On the 27th, Chad turned 27! His "champagne" or golden birthday! So I decided it called for a little sparkling apple juice! We invited Chad's family over for some cake sunday evening. It is always fun having everyone get together. I especially love seeing our niece's and nephew. Eva and Bjorn are getting so big!
This is Chad blowing out the candles...with a little help from Calla. I was at a bad angle for picture taking.I am pretty sure Chad has a good day. One of the presents I gave him was a 3D puzzle of a globe that came with a stand. He put it together last night...it looks pretty awesome, I forgot to take a picture though.
I think Chad is amazing in so many ways! He really does have strength in areas that I lack and I think we make a good team! I love you Chad and I hope you had a fun birthday!
Also this weekend we had a youth activity where every ward was required to build a type of go cart to have races with. This is Halifax's version of a go cart...it turned out really well. We didn't win the over all racing part, but we were given an award for the most intimidating! Now that I wrote down what we did this weekend it doesn't seem like a whole lot but it seemed really busy! I am looking forward to a little relaxing this week!

There was a wedding and then we went on a trip!!
Well, to start out...on Aug 29th my big sister got married. Amy and Steve decided to have there wedding in my parents back yard. It was set up a nice in the yard but they were calling for rain. Luckily my parents house in across the street from the church so at 11am the morning of the wedding, we moved everything over to the church to avoid the rain. It was a busy morning. The wedding started at 2pm and me and Amy started getting ready at 1:20.
But all went smoothly after that, the rain held out until after the pictures and i think everyone had some fun. Oh yeah...I made her wedding cake. It was very simple, but it was exactly what she wanted.
Here are some pictures that the photographers took.
Then Chad and I had taken a week off of work and went with Amy and Steve to Ontairo... just what every newly married couple dreams of...chaperones on their honeymoon. ;) We hung out for the week and then they went to Niagra Falls for their real honeymoon so dont feel too bad for them!
We had a lot of fun though. We went to Canada's wonderland twice where we went on all but 1 or 2 rollarcoasters! We didn't bring a camera cause we didn't want to carry it around all day. SO no pictures, however, they have this insane rollarcoaster call the Behemoth, it is brand new this year and it is insane. The first drop is 70 meters (230 feet) at 125km/h and a 75 degree angle. It's crazy! You can check it out here: http://behemoth.canadaswonderland.com/public/ride/
We also went to the zoo. Chad loved it! He really should have went into zoology or something!I love that the Rhino's were kissing!
We did some shopping. We bought new dressers from Ikea. We are buling a new bed frame that will match.
And we did a quick stop by the temple at night. Chad and I wanted to do a session but our recommends expired while we were away and we realized too late to do anything about it before we left. This is us outside the temple, little self portriate!
I also had my first Krispy Kreme experience. It was heavenly!
And my first Denny's experience...this was taken at Denny's.
Also, one of my favorite foods is Jerked Pork! I love it!! And I cant find it around here. They have a Mr. Jerk in Brampton (where we were staying) and we got some the first night we were there! I love it! If anyone knows where to get it around here let me know!!
We had a lot of fun! It was the fist real trip Chad and I had ever taken together.
We will have to do it more often!
Also, a big thanks to my uncle and aunt who let us stay with them while we were there! You are fabulous!!

4 years!!
4 years ago today Chad and I got married! It is hard to believe it has been that long. To me it feels like maybe a year. I asked Chad if it had felt like 4 years...he said "yes" (which of course I took the wrong way), but he said.... "it is just hard to remember a time when we weren't together." I thought that was a pretty good answer.
Chad is the best husband! He is sensitive and sweet and does the dishes for me cause I hate it.
He's hansom and funny and he keeps me on the right path! He is smart and inspiring and will do anything for me! He is the perfect guy for me and I am so lucky to be with him forever!!

Natal Day
I started this post about a week ago... so before Natal day comes around again I should post it.
I so enjoyed Natal Day, mostly because it gave me an extra day off work, but we had a lot of fun.
Chad and I took our niece's Calla and Reese to Taylor's Head beach. We met up with Chad's Dad and family. It was a long drive for the girls, but it is a nice spot. It is just past Spry Bay. The water was cold but the beach wasn't rocky or full of seaweed so that was nice.
Chad of course dug a big hole. And then did a hand stand in it. He is just too funny! This is Everyone hanging out. Chad digging a hole.
Chad getting out of the hole.
Chad and Calla hanging out in the hole.
Reese...i love this kid, she is just too cute!!
Oh, and there was some sand castles built. I didn't get a picture of the finished product, but it was awesome!
It was a good day!

I made a cake!
Lately I have been a little obsessed with Ace of Cakes and the Food Challenge with all the crazy cakes. They just look so fun. My sister is getting married at the end of the summer, so I offered to make her cake. Granted I have never actually made a wedding cake, but I figure that since I had watched all these shows and how to video's on youtube that it would be fun. This weekend I decided to do a practice cake, I think it turned out ok for my first try. It is obviously not a wedding cake, but I needed to try working with fondant. It's really not that hard. I took the cake to young woman's on sunday to share, it went along with my lesson on Temple Marriage. I wasn't a huge fan of the pound cake recipe that I tried though so if any one has a good chocolate pound cake recipe let me know!!
I also wanted to post a picture of the father's day cards that I made this year, I thought they were really cute. I have more pictures of cards on facebook.

Dreams
I dream all the time....every night in fact. I usually remember them in the morning and they are typically strange and crazy. I am not a fan of dreaming, i never feel like I get enough sleep. I heard that if you can remember your dream in the morning you didn't get enough sleep.
I am known to talk in my sleep and also beat up Chad on occasion (only a little), but last night my dream was intense. The details are all a little fuzzy now, but I was at the beach and laying in the water. Someone came along, i dont know who it was, but they grabbed my hand and pulled me out and held me under the water. I couldn't get out. The next thing I knew I was startled awake because I couldn't breathe. I woke up trying to breathe. It was insane. I dont know if i couldn't breathe because of my dream or if my dream formed around the fact that i couldn't breathe.
(You know how that happens sometimes, how your alarm turns into some sort of car alarm or something in your dream and then you realize it is your clock)
Anyway, I had a hard time getting back to sleep after that and i am quite tired now, it was a long night.
Hopefully no one else has such real dreams!!

She's Cute!
This is a picture I just had to share....
My Mom sent it to me yesterday asking if I recognized who it was. I knew who it was as soon as I looked at it....my Dad however thought it was either me or my little sister.
Nope....it is my Mom! How cute is she! It's funny to think of your parents once being this small!
