Valentines and a new baby!!

So I will start off with the more exciting news. Logan and Katrina (my bro and sis in law) welcomed a baby girl on Saturday. Eva Morgan Quist was born at 10:53 pm Feb 21, 2009. She was 7lb 15". She has a ton of hair and looks just like her mommy!! We went to visit them after church yesterday and other than being very tired they are all doing great! Eva is already a daddy's girl! I am excited to be an aunt to 3 beautiful girls! Hopefully Melissa, another one of my in laws (who was due yesterday) will have a little boy so I can have a nephew to spoil too!

So Valentines day was nice and relaxing...I know it was like a week ago but I thought I would post since I have some pictures.

Chad and I just spent the day at home together. Well, actually Chad went and played squash in the morning, which gave me time to finish making him a card. But the afternoon and evening we ordered some food, watched movies and had a little chocolate fondue. It was fun!

So yesterday we had Chad's Brother Brant and his family over for dinner. They have 2 girls, Calla and Reese who are very helpful in showing me how not child proof my apartment is!

It was great to have them over though!

We made some cookies after dinner for dessert...Reese really enjoyed herself!

We haven't been up to a whole lot, Chad is back to work today. He just finished a block of school for his apprenticeship. It will be nice to have some money again. He goes back again in May.

I am really quite jealous of people in school! I miss it a lot! If only it didn't cost so much I would be back there in a second!

Valentines Day

it's almost here! I have never been big into valentines day...but this year for some reason I am buying into it. I want to do something fun with Chad but I am lacking ideas!

What is something fun/romantic but cheap to do on Valentines day?? Any suggestion would be helpful!

6 Things....

So Julia Tagged me, and I enjoy doing these little things to past the time at work so here we go!

1) I cut myself on anything...and on a daily bases. Yesterday I cut myself on my seatbelt! It doesn't even have to have a sharp edge, i'll find a way!

2) I hate the toy jack in a box...even though I know it is about to pop out, it still freaks me out.

3) I change my clothes one item at a time so that if the house catches on fire while I am changing I dont have to run outside half dressed. I am always afraid my house is going to burn down.

4) I can say the alphabet backwards...pretty fast, about as fast as saying it forwards. I use to ALWAYS have the alphabet song stuck in my head...for like years, and still to this day i randomly find myself singing it.

5) I dream every night and I hate it! I never get a good sleep! And my dreams are always crazy!
If anyone knows how to not dream at night...let me know!

6) I am not an overly ambitious person, but whenever i hear that something is impossible i have to try it...for instance... i heard you cant sneeze with your eyes open, so I have tried it...I cant!
However, I heard it was impossible to lick your elbow...i tried it and guess what...NOT IMPOSSIBLE!! I can lick my elbow! So dont let anyone tell you something is impossible!

Let me explain...

Ok, I am the worst blogger ever lately!!! But it has been a busy 2 months! I honestly cant believe it is going to be Feburary next week! Anyway Things have been busy... in December, lets be honest, everyone is busy so I have no real excuse except I thought I was doing good with my Christmas shopping as I started in Oct, but then it was all of a sudden 2 weeks before christmas and I was still not finished!

We had a nice christmas, we went to my parents place and I got to talk to my little sister on Christmas day for a few minutes. She is in Italy on her mission (which is like half over already! I cant believe how time flies!) So that was a lot of fun!

New Years was fun, we spent out night with Shane and Jessica and Nathan and Caverly. It was a lot of fun, playing games, good food and fun non alcoholic drinks!

Then I had my birthday, which Chad threw me a surprise party! I am not one for surprises, but it wasn't too bad! I honestly had no idea!! Chad really is the best husband ever! He went all out for that party! And he bought me a photo printer which works great!! I cant believe I am 25! Scary!

Also, for the past month and a half we have had Chad's sister Mallory and her husband Jake staying with us. It is sometimes hard sharing your space with other people like that, but last night they decided they were going to stay with Chad's Mom and try to get an apartment in her building...it was almost sad having them leave. They were living in bridgewater, so having them in Dartmouth will be nice, we will be able to hang out a lot more often!

And on top of it all Chad started school at the begining of January. He has to take four 6 week blocks of school, one each year. He hasn't be able to get in until now, so he wil be doing 2 block for school this year, but he has had to adjust to the homework and tests and projects. He is doing very well though! I miss the paychecks though!

So, like I said...we have been busy...nothing too exciting, but lots to do!

I am going to end this post with a few pictures! (that's another reason I am slack! I dont like to post with out pictures, so I will have to try to take more pictures!)

This is my parents house all decorated for Christmas that my sister did...Chad said it's not real decorating unless you use a ladder! I think it looks nice!

On Christmas eve in new glasgow they have Santa travel all around the town on a fire truck, he goes up and down all of the streets...it takes all night, anyway we heard the sirens so we went out to see him coming, I got bored waiting so I built a mini snow man on the front step.

Unfortunately he had melted the next morning! RIP



I almost forgot....Today is my little sister Laura's 22nd Birthday! Like I said, she is in Italy, but I want to say happy birthday anyway! This is a picture of my siblings ( it is like a year or so old) Laura, Alec and Amy!

Well, now that I have caught up the last 2 months I will update more often!

Favorite Person (outside of family)? Oh there are so many! Elysa, Julia, Caverly, Jessica and Heather. They are all great for so many reasons!!

Favorite Food? well...i love pasta. But lately I have been craving jerked chicken from Mr. Jerk! There are none around here, and I tried making it at home and it is just not the same!!

Quirks about you? There are too many weird things about me... I can only whisle if I suck the air in, also, I have no actual proof other than the way my pants fit, but I am pretty sure one leg is shorter than the other.

Any regrets in life? Um...not really regrets, there may be a few things I would have done differently, like university... I might have chosen a different career path, but I dont regret my education. Does that make sense??

Favorite Charity/Cause? I really like the make a wish foundation, also anything to do with alzheimer research.

Favorite Blog recently? I liked Julia's post about Lyla Ladybug....I just love that kid those pictures are so cute!!

Something you can't get enough of? Time with Chad....we get to spend a lot of time together and I love it! But I would take more if I could! Also...reading is a new obsession of mine!

Worst Job you've ever had? I'm pretty sure my current job as Office Manager at a placement agency is my worst job yet!!

What job would you pay not to have? any position in a fast food resturaunt. I couldn't do that!

Guilty Pleasure? online shopping and chick flicks!

Got any confessions? I cant think of anything...

If you had $1000 dollars to spend on yourself how would you spend it? I would need to travel!

Favorite thing about your house? It has a hallway! our old place was a big box! oh and 2 bathrooms!

Least favorite thing about your house? It's a rental!

One thing you are bad at? keeping in touch with people!

One thing you are good at? Listening... I really dont mind when people need to vent! Bring it on!

If you could change one thing about your circumstances, what would it be? I would have a different job!

What makes you feel sexy? I dont know...it's been a while!

Who is your real life hero? Well... my parents! They are amazing! They are both so strong in the gospel, they are smart, they have a great relationship. Mom has a very calming nature and Dad is crazy and funny! They are both great!

What is the hardest part of your job? dealing with riff raff!

When are you most relaxed? When my apartment is clean and I have nothing to do!

What can you not live without? family and good friends.

Why do you blog? to keep family and friends up to date with whats going on in our lives, to keep in touch, to keep a record...it's like my journal!

Birthday Weekend Getaway

Last saturday was Chad's 26th birthday!! He's growing up so quickly! ;)

So I decided that we should get out of town and have some fun. We have been telling Josh and Julia that we would come visit them in the valley, so I thought it might be good to put the 2 idea's together. I was looking for a few weeks for a place to stay and didn't find anything really fantastic. I am not a fan of the B&B scene...i just rather not stay at someone's house that I dont know. So I was looking for an inn or maybe a hotel. I wanted something with a little character. So I looked and looked...and it seemed like I was going to have to book a boring hotel room. So the tuesday before we were supposed to leave I showed Chad a few of the places I was thinking. None of them were overly exciting, so I searched one more time for other accomodations and I found it! It's called By the Dock of the Bay Cottages. It was perfect and luckly they had a suite avaiable. Pictures are to follow.

I must start at the begining...

I decided to take Friday off of work so we left as soon as Chad was finished work around 3. So we called Josh and Julia and told them we would see them soon. Then Josh told us that he had this secret to getting there faster. Julia and I thought it was going to be some back road shortcut kind of thing...but it turned out that Josh just speeds...that's his secret! Chad is a little bit of a speeder himself so the following incident we do not blame Josh for, but it was just kind of funny that he suggested it. We were driving just outside Windsor and Chad got pulled over...he was indeed speeding. So to start off his birthday weekend Chad got his first speeding ticket! We talked about how it was a crappy thing to happen but we weren't going to let it spoil the weekend. Poor Chad...the cop should have seen that it was his Bday and given him a warning! Oh well...she was just doing her job!

Anyway...we got to the valley and checked into our suite...it was perfect!!It was in a beach house right on the water with a perfect view of the Bay of Fundy! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to get away. And it is not that expensive either!!

So after we got settled we met Josh and Julia for some dinner. They live about 10 feet away from a cute resturaunt...it was pretty tasty. Then we had some birthday cake that I made for Chad earlier in the day. We hung out there for a bit and then called it a night.

The next morning...too early for people on vacation, we got up and cooked some breakfast and headed back to Josh and Julia's. Chad and Josh were going golfing, so Chad wanted an early start so they could avoid the rain. Julia and I went to Walmart and I got to hang out with little Lyla all day! It was great! The Venoit family made an apperance as well before they went to a wedding. It was good to see them.

The boys returned and we hung out for a bit more and Chad and I ventured home. There was no speeding ticket involved on the way home thankfully!

We really enjoyed our weekend...a big thanks to J&J for the quality time!
