Sophie Kinnon Quist

Well, I am a little behind on posting this. But our little girl arrived on Monday Sept 13, 2010 at 5:40am. After 17 hours of active labor :( She weighed 8 lbs and 11 oz. That was a little bigger than I was expecting but not too far off. I am glad she was 5 days early though because she would have only gotten bigger!

She is doing great and she loves to wake her mommy up a couple times a night. We are adjusting to the lack of sleep but it makes it a little hard when I find it impossible to sleep during the day. I have always had a hard time napping in the day and I still find it hard even with a lack of sleep at night. I am sure it will catch up to me soon.

So my labor story isn't too exciting. I didn't have anything crazy happen, just that it was long. My water broke Sunday morning at 8:30, right after Chad said " you know, if your water broke this morning I wouldn't have to teach priesthood"...10 minutes later he got his wish. I thought she would make an appearance that day but she held on till Monday morning.
I got an epidural, which when I asked for one, I got one in about 5 minutes. So labor was hard but not brutal. I have to say I would give birth again no problem, but being pregnant is the worst thing I have ever experienced!

Anyway we are loving having a baby in our home. Chad and I keep saying to each other that we cant believe she is ours. We think she is cute! She looks a little like both of us so it should be interesting to watch her features change over time.

Here are some pictures of Sophie.

Congratulations!! I have to say myself that being pregnant was WONDERFUL both times and labor, especially baby #2, was quite scarring! Especially when you have an idea of what to expect the second time round...
...but you have a beautiful little girl and I know you two will do fabulous!

Congratulations! She is so cute. I totally agree with the pregnancy/ labor issue. I wish having kids didn't involve any of that nonsense. It's just not right.
