christmas

I guess i should post about Sophie's 1st Christmas since i forgot to before...

It was perfect. It was a green Christmas...my favorite kind! We were at my parents place for Christmas Eve until boxing day. Christmas morning Sophie slept in until after breakfast. We woke her up to open presents. She got quite a few things for being only a 3 month old. We bought her a really cute little Dragon stuffed animal. His name is Scorch, I might just force it to be her favorite stuffed animal! We got some family pictures taken and had fun relaxing and spending time with family.

I took this picture of Sophie, i took about 30 pictures trying to get her to smile but it just didn't happen..all 30 pictures basically look like this one...but she is cute none the less...

so for christmas i made my sister Amy a necklace...that is kind of literal, it was made out of lace.

I think she likes it...she said she did and she wore it in public so i think she does. I saw it online and I thought it looked easy...turns out it was pretty easy, i think I might make a few more.

Also this month I turned 27! This is the age that has pushed me over the edge, I didn't mind turning 25 or ever 26...but 27, i am now in my late 20's...hard to believe! I had a prefect birthday, relaxing and spent time with Nathan, Caverly and my new friend Cameron! Cute family!!

2011

So, i wasn't going to post this, but I thought that if I dont write it down or tell someone i might not follow through. I have a goal to lose 45 pounds by Aug 6, 2011. My friend Sarah from high school is getting married so that is the date I picked as my end date, and this tuesday is my start date. I think it can be done, and should be done, so there it is folks. I dont think I will post my weight cause i am just too embarressed but maybe along the way when i am feeling more conifdent I will let you in on it. That might not happen till the end, but we will see.

In other news...I have no other news. i lead a very uneventful life, somehow I thought that adding a baby to the mix would live'n things up a bit, but she is pretty perfect and mellow and fits right into our comfortable little life. I am sure that will change when she starts being a little more independant and crawling.
I have to say though she is growing up way too fast.

Halloween and Blessing Day

I am not much for Halloween, even as a kid I hated it. But I will try not to pass on my opinions on stuff like that to Sophie...she can decide for herself if she likes halloween. Anyway, my sister Laura just happened to have given me some baby clothes, which included a little frog costume. I tried it on her and she looked so cute/funny that we just had to use it. Here she is all dressed up like a frog...

Another big day for Sophie was Sunday Nov 7th. She was blessed at Church. We had lots of family come and it turned out to be a great day dispite the rain. My Mom made her dress, Chad's Mom bought her a gorgeous little bracelet and my Grandfather found her some cute little white shoes. She looked so pretty on her special day...

Now we are trying to decide what we want to give Sophie for her 1st Christmas. Time is flying by, it will be Christmas before we know it. She is already 8 weeks old and will be getting her 2 month needles at the end of the week! Crazy!

One Month

Sophie is one month old today...I can hardly believe it. She is getting so big. She has her 1 month appointment tomorrow so we will see how much she has grown in the past 2 weeks.

Sophie Kinnon Quist

Well, I am a little behind on posting this. But our little girl arrived on Monday Sept 13, 2010 at 5:40am. After 17 hours of active labor :( She weighed 8 lbs and 11 oz. That was a little bigger than I was expecting but not too far off. I am glad she was 5 days early though because she would have only gotten bigger!

She is doing great and she loves to wake her mommy up a couple times a night. We are adjusting to the lack of sleep but it makes it a little hard when I find it impossible to sleep during the day. I have always had a hard time napping in the day and I still find it hard even with a lack of sleep at night. I am sure it will catch up to me soon.

So my labor story isn't too exciting. I didn't have anything crazy happen, just that it was long. My water broke Sunday morning at 8:30, right after Chad said " you know, if your water broke this morning I wouldn't have to teach priesthood"...10 minutes later he got his wish. I thought she would make an appearance that day but she held on till Monday morning.

I got an epidural, which when I asked for one, I got one in about 5 minutes. So labor was hard but not brutal. I have to say I would give birth again no problem, but being pregnant is the worst thing I have ever experienced!

Anyway we are loving having a baby in our home. Chad and I keep saying to each other that we cant believe she is ours. We think she is cute! She looks a little like both of us so it should be interesting to watch her features change over time.

38 weeks

My sister took a few belly pictures. Other than the fact that I look huge, they turned out pretty good! They were taken at 38 weeks and 2 days. I am now 9 days away from my due date! I am freaking out a little bit. I am excited to meet our little girl but soon I will be a Mom and that
seems crazy!

5 Years

It is crazy that 5 years ago today Chad and I got married!! It seems like we just got married, but it also seems like we have been a family forever! I am so happy he is my husband! He is the perfect guy for me. He is sweet and caring, protective, honest, easy going, crazy, and I swear he gets better looking everyday!! I am glad he is mine forever! Love you babe!! Happy Anniversary!
