Eventful weekend!

I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend! We had a pretty busy few days, but lots of fun.

We started out on Friday with a little bit of much needed sleeping in! It was great after the brutal week i had at work! Then we got up and cleaned up and made our contribution to the pot luck dinner we were going to at Chad's Grandparents that night. Then we headed to Dartmouth. Dinner was nice. It was an Easter get together as well as a welcome home to Ben Fielden, Chad's Cousin who just got home from his mission in New Zealand. It was good to see him. Then, during dinner Mallory (Chad's sister) made a big announcement...her and Jake Langley are engaged! Very exciting. They are planning on getting married on June 13th. So us girls got to hear all the plans so far, everything sounds great. It is going to happen fast so they are keeping it pretty simple, which is a good idea! I think it will turn out really great! Congratulations you guys! And Jake will be a nice addition to the family!

Here is the happy couple...i stole this picture from facebook.
So after that excitement we went to the temple to do sealings with the family. It was nice since I haven't been there in way too long. It was pretty busy that day. They did over 3000 ordinances just that day. That is like 1/6 (i think) of all of last year, just in one day! I really need to start going more regularly again. When we were first married we went every Thursday for the 1st year.

Then on Saturday we headed back to the temple in the morning, only this time it was for my sister. Laura went through for the 1st time. It was a fun experience. I still think of Laura as my "little" sister, which she is but she still seems so young to me. She is leaving for her mission in about a month...crazy! We will be trying to get to my parents place as much as we can between now and then.

After the temple we went to my parents place in new glasgow for the rest of the weekend. Every time we go home it seems like my older sister Amy wants to do a family picture. She is taking a photography course so she like to practice with us. I think some of them turned out pretty nice.

We had a good time though, we went out for dinner, played games both board and video and of course had out annual easter egg hunt. It is pretty funny that the youngest of us is 21 and we still hunt for eggs. Dad just cant get enough!

Well, I hope you all had a good weekend full of fun and treats!

A little of this....a little of that!

I dont know why, but I am having a hard time adjusting to the date! In my mind it is still Feburary. Random thought I know!

So last week was pretty uneventful, which is always nice! Except poor Chad... on Tuesday he called me at work in the afternoon asking me what his Mom's number was. (shouldn't he know that?) Anyway I thought it was a little weird but didn't think much of it afterwards. Then he came to pick me up and he told me that he had locked the keys in the car. His Mom has a key just in case this happens so that is why he needed her number. So no big deal...
Then on Wednesday morning Chad dropped me off at work at 7:30 as normal and he headed to work. At about 8am my office door swung open and there is Chad and he is not happy! I asked him what happened and he said that he got locked his keys in the car again at the Tim Hortons and the car was still on. I dont know why he left the car on but he was pretty ticked. So Chad now thinks that we need a new car because he wouldn't lock the keys in the car if we have the keyless lock on it. I'm sure he would find a way. He has locked the keys in the car probably 5 times in the last year. That's gotta be some sort of record!

So our weekend was pretty quiet, just hanging out with family, oh and a wicked migrain(what a crappy way to spend a saturday night!) Then sunday came and my head ache was gone and I felt pretty good. Got all ready for church and got there at what I thought was 10 minutes early. We pulled in and there looked like an awful lot of cars for 9:50am. But that didn't tip me off. So we walk up, open the door and everyone is sitting so reverently, sit dont think anything of it. Then I hear Nancy sitting on the chair in the hall say..."forgot about the time change?"
Boy did we ever! So we missed pretty much all of sacrament meeting. It's been a while since we skipped church...i guess it was about time!

Then on sunday for supper we invited Chad's family over. We had Brant, Melissa, Calla, Reese, Logan, Katrina and Luana over. It was nice to finally use our new dinning table for more than just Chad and I. It also reminded me how much I love our table! It was fun, and I think we all enjoyed ourselves. However, if you have Melissa on facebook you might have already heard the happenings of that night. Calla was playing with a glow stick and bit into it. Only a 3 year old eh? She didn't swallow any of it, but Melissa thought it was important to call poision control just in case. But it is not toxic so she will be fine, just a little irritation. Then Reese decided to throw her socks into the toilet...after i tried so hard to keep the bathroom door closed all night! Chad was brave a fished them out for her! It was a fun night...what would a family dinner be without a little bit of crazy?

This week has gone by pretty fast and I hope that continues. Chad is off on a boys camp with the young men until saturday! I hate sleeping alone and this will be the longest we have been apart since we've known each other (3 and 1/2 years)...it is not fun! But I have a YW's sleepover tomorrow night and hopefully the girls will keep me company and cheer me up!

I better get back to it...I hope you all have a great day!

Reese is 1!

So, I am a little late posting this but I was visiting my parents on the weekend and didn't get around it it, but my little niece Reese turned 1 on Feb 27th. She is getting so big so fast! Melissa and Brant had everyone over for cake and presents and some games. It was a good time.

Here are a few pictures I stole from Melissa's facebook.

Melissa did a good job on the butterfly cake!

It was pretty funny, Calla enjoyed "helping"...however her idea of helping included opening all the presents before Reese even got a chance.

So I forgot to post the pictures of the flowers that I got for my birthday...(I know I am like 2 months late!) But I just saw them on my camera yesterday. I got the lilies from Chad and the Tulips from Luana (mother in law). It was great. I love having flowers around the house.

So this past weekend Chad and I went to my parents place for a visit. It was good to get away and relax. We are going to have to try to get there as much as possible in the next 2 months before my little sister leaves. She is still so excited about her mission call. I was talking to her before we got there and she was excited to just show me the actually letter that she got. She is too funny!

Anyway it was nice to relax and hang out with my family. They just bought a Wii and rented guitar hero for xbox so we spent a bit of time playing games which was fun. Those are the kind of games I like.

Also, my older sister Amy and I decided to do a craft. She is totally Martha Stewart and I thought it would be fun. Amy found the idea on the internet somewhere and we copied it. We made some throw pillows. Well, we bought the pillow and just added to it. I think it turned out pretty nice. Amy's is nicer than mine of course! But I dont have a picture of hers to compare so you will just have to trust me.

Over all it was a good weekend. We got stuck there on Sunday night because of the snow so we had to leave extra early on Monday morning to make it into work, but it all worked out.

Last night was out YW's new beginings. It went really well. The girls sang a new song that goes along with the theme this year and it sounded so great! We had a dinner and little presentation. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I am pretty excited that it is already Thursday. This week has gone by so fast! I love weekends!

Anyway, My boss is actually in the office today (not something that happens very often!) so I should do some work!
Enjoy your weekend!
